Prof. Arttatrana Pal

Prof. Arttatrana Pal is the Professor and Head, Department of Zoology and Dean, School of Life Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU), Motihari. Immediately after entering into new position, Prof. Pal served in various capacities, as founder Professor, Head of the Department of Zoology and Botany, Member of various decision making bodies including IQAC, BoS, Academic Council and Executive Council Members at MGCU. Before that he served as Associate Professor, Department of Zoology at MGCU, Associate and Assistant Professor at School of Biotechnology, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, University Teaching and Research Faculty at University of Colorado Denver, USA, Research Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, and Utkal University, India. An animal biologist by training, he possesses an excellent academic record with M.Sc. degree in Zoology from Utkal University in 1999 and Ph.D. degree in Zoology from Utkal University in 2006. Prof. Pal has over 14 years of experience in research and teaching. In addition, Prof. Pal a dynamic Professor of Zoology, he has been keenly interested in research and innovation in Animal Sciences and Medicine and published 45 scientific articles/book chapters in peer reviewed journals/books. Five students have received Ph.D. degree and awarded more than 12 M.Tech/MSc. dissertation students under his supervision. Besides he has completed couple of major research projects funded by various extramural funding agencies. His research specialization is in Animal Sciences with major emphasis on Diabetic Neuropathy, Metabolic Disease Biology and Therapeutics and Toxicology. Prof. Pal has worked in several reputed National and International laboratories like Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Colorado Denver, Department of Ophthalmology, School of Medicine, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, USA, JNU, New Delhi, and Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and has given many invited talks in national and international conferences in India and abroad. As a life member of many professional scientific bodies, Prof. Pal is serving as Reviewer Board of many reputed International Journals.
