Central Library

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Central Library of Mahatma Gandhi Central University was established in the year 2016. The library has a rich collection of books, journals and periodicals and serves users from 7 Schools and 20 Departments. Currently, with more than twenty-six thousand volumes of books, the library provides access to scholarly information, research support and study facilities to the teaching and non-teaching staff, students and research scholars. The library is semi-automated and aims to be fully automated using SOUL software; circulation services will be executed through an RFID system. Campus-wise library facilities are also available to provide better access to resources for students and faculty members within the campuses.

Computer Lab

There is a well-equipped computer lab for the students with Wi‑Fi facilities. The systems are equipped with various software required for engineering and other disciplines. High‑speed internet connectivity is provided to access vast intellectual and academic resources. All e‑books and study material can be accessed through campus connectivity.

Laboratories

The School of Life Sciences and the School of Physical and Material Sciences have well‑equipped laboratory facilities. Departments such as Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology and Biotechnology have separate labs with modern equipment, where various research activities are conducted by faculty and researchers.

Hostel

The University has a fully furnished hostel for girls, equipped with round‑the‑clock electricity, Wi‑Fi, entertainment facilities, geysers, coolers and high‑quality water purifiers. Reading rooms and additional sports facilities such as table tennis, chess and carom are also available. Hostel rooms are available on a double‑occupancy basis.

Health Facilities

The University is committed to providing the best possible health facilities to students. Health insurance (VIDYARTHI‑Mediclaim) is provided for students. They can avail themselves of healthcare facilities with insurance coverage up to 50,000 for hospitalization. In any health emergency, ambulance service is available 24×7 to reach the nearest hospital.

Career Council & Placement Cell

The University has established a separate Career Council & Placement Cell to provide essential information and guidance to students across campuses for training and placement. The Cell functions as a centre for career counselling and an employment bureau.

SC/ST Cell

A separate SC/ST Cell has been constituted to take follow‑up measures for achieving objectives laid down by the Government of India and UGC. The Cell provides a mechanism to register and address complaints/grievances of SC/ST students. Given the substantial number of SC/ST students on campus, the Cell also guides them regarding scholarships, fellowships, government schemes and welfare provisions.

Internal Complaint Committee & Women Cell

A full‑fledged Internal Complaint Committee & Women Cell operates on campus, providing help and guidance to staff members and female students of various campuses to address their concerns and complaints.

Sports & Games

Sports are an important component for the mental and physical development of students. The University provides excellent indoor and outdoor sports facilities for major games such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, chess, carom, cricket, badminton and football. Students regularly participate in inter‑university tournaments using these facilities and training.

University Gym

The University provides a gymnasium (Veer Hanuman Vyayamshala) to keep students fit and healthy. It is equipped with the necessary equipment for all‑round development. Its location at the Gandhi Bhawan Campus adds value, with various sports grounds and running tracks at the same venue.

Culture & Literary Council

The Cultural Council comprises a Chairman, Coordinator and members under the leadership of the Hon’ble Vice‑Chancellor. It promotes literary and cultural values among students through programmes and competitions, including poetry, music, dance, painting, debate, acting, singing, story and essay writing.

NSS

Mahatma Gandhi held that students should prepare themselves for service rather than indulge in intellectual luxury. He expected students to do something positive to raise the material and moral life of villagers. The University’s NSS Unit helps develop leadership skills and social awareness. Activities include environmental enrichment and conservation; health, family welfare and nutrition programmes; awareness of women’s rights and status; rodent control and pest management; weed control, soil testing and soil healthcare; promotion of co‑operative societies; non‑formal education; and assistance to local authorities in relief and rehabilitation during natural calamities and emergencies. These run throughout the academic session under the Normal Activities programme for a prescribed period of 120 hours of social service.

Transport Facilities

The University provides transport facilities for students and staff. It owns four buses to carry students for field visits and from hostels to academic campuses. Transport is also provided for academic tours. At scheduled times, buses run in the city to pick up and drop students at their destinations.

National Knowledge Network

The National Knowledge Network (NKN) is a state‑of‑the‑art pan‑India network and a revolutionary step towards creating a borderless knowledge society. It benefits the knowledge community and society at large, enabling vibrant institutions to transcend space and time limitations in accessing information and knowledge. NKN facilitates the development of India’s information infrastructure, stimulates research and fosters next‑generation applications and services. Target users include research laboratories, universities and other institutions of higher learning, including professional institutions.

Banking Facilities

The University provides banking facilities and has an ATM at the Chanakya Parisar Campus. Students and staff from various schools can use the ATM at any time within the campus premises.
