Prof. Pranveer Singh is the Dean of the School of Life Sciences and Professor & Head of the Department of Zoology at Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari. Since the establishment of the University, he has served in various important positions including Founder Head of the Departments of Zoology and Botany, and as a member of several key decision-making bodies such as IQAC, Board of Studies, Academic Council, and Executive Council. Prior to this, he worked as an Associate Professor in the Department of Zoology, as Associate and Assistant Professor in the School of Biotechnology, KIIT University Bhubaneswar, as a University Teaching and Research Faculty at the University of Colorado Denver, USA, and as a Research Fellow at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi and Utkal University, Bhubaneswar.
He is a zoologist with an outstanding academic record. He obtained his M.Sc. degree in Zoology from Utkal University in 1999 and his Ph.D. in Zoology from Utkal University in 2006. He has more than 14 years of research and teaching experience. His research specialization is primarily in Diabetic Neuropathy, Metabolic Disease Biology, Therapeutics, and Toxicology.
He has published more than 45 research articles and book chapters, supervised 5 Ph.D. scholars and over 12 M.Tech/M.Sc. dissertation students. He has also successfully completed several major research projects funded by various external funding agencies.
He has worked in many reputed national and international laboratories and has delivered invited lectures at several national and international conferences in India and abroad. He is a life member of many professional scientific bodies and serves on the reviewer boards of several reputed international journals.
