Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat @ MGCUB

The initiative ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ was announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on 31st October 2015 on the occasion of the 140th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Under the directions and guidelines of UGC–MHRD, it celebrates the idea of India as a nation wherein different cultural units across varied geographies interact with each other and carry out engagements in the spheres of language, literature, cuisine, festivals, cultural events, tourism, etc. Mahatma Gandhi Central University has formed an Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) committee to organize various programmes to promote the knowledge of the culture, tradition and practices of different states of our country—held together into a composite national identity—and in line with the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat campaign launched by the Government of India. To fulfil the broader objectives of the EBSB campaign, Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Motihari constituted a committee and Prof. Rafique Ul Islam has been the Coordinator of the EBSB committee since November 2019. Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Lecture Series – Pradeshanubhuti

Our University is a living example of “Unity in Diversity”, with faculty and staff from various parts of India (from 21 states). To better understand the cultural heritage and traditions of all states, the EBSB Committee initiated a lecture series under the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat – Pradeshanubhuti” “एक भारत श्रेष्ठ भारत – प्रदेशानुभूति”, where faculty members deliver lectures about their own states—history, cultural heritage, traditions, food habits, tourism, languages, and their state’s contribution to nation-building.

Under the EBSB campaign, various programmes and events have been organized by the EBSB Committee of Mahatma Gandhi Central University since its inception.
