About Universal Human Values (UHV)

Since the early 1980s, we have been dedicating our time and effort pro bono to a philosophy and pedagogical approach focused on the all-around development of the individual, encompassing their intellectual, emotional, social, physical, creative, and spiritual potential — not just academic achievement. It emphasizes creating well-rounded, compassionate, and socially responsible individuals prepared for life's complexities by fostering critical thinking, personal growth, and a connection to community and the natural world. We believe that the well-being of the individual (svārth), the well-being of others (parārth), and the well-being of all (paramārth) are intrinsically interconnected and mutually fulfilling. We envision a world where wisdom, self-awareness, and the betterment of all are not just lofty ideals but lived realities. We support one another on this collective journey towards holistic understanding, knowledge, and wisdom. While different frameworks exist, most converge on a common set of core values. A widely recognized model comes from the “Declaration Toward a Global Ethic” (Parliament of the World's Religions, 1993), which draws on ancient principles like the “Golden Rule” — strong evidence for universality.
